Recommended strongly for areas with heavier rainfall and buildings with large roof areas, aluminium box gutters have a larger capacity than traditional rounded gutters of the same size and help to limit overflow.
Because they support larger buildings so well, you may have heard box gutters described as commercial gutters. This distinction isn’t as important as it used to be, though, and they’re starting to see much more use on homes as well, with the sharp angles of the ‘box’ providing a different look to other aluminium guttering.
After all, your gutters, aluminium hoppers and downpipes don’t just provide your home with a drainage system; they also become a part of its look.
Using Aluminium Box Gutters
The increased capacity of aluminium box gutters can mean the freedom to choose more compact guttering, reducing the profile against the rest of the building. Instead, you can use guttering around the same size and see less standing water, particularly on flat roofs, as more water can be drained away.
Another varied use of bespoke pressed gutters is joining two opposing slowed roof sections or adding guttering along the inside of aluminium coping. With this technique, you can maintain excellent drainage systems while hiding them as much as possible.
Your box gutters should feed into the appropriately sized aluminium hopper head and drain via aluminium downpipes.
